Genesis offers the 2023 G90 in two trim levels: 3.5T AWD and 3.5T E-Supercharger (E-SC) AWD. They both come standard with all-wheel drive managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. The starter version comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 making 375 horsepower. The same engine is used with the E-SC but is enhanced with a mild-hybrid system and electric supercharger to produce 409 horsepower. The EPA estimates the 3.5T to deliver 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the E-SC is rated for 17 mpg around town and 24 mpg on the open road.
The term “base” feels insufficient to describe the G90 3.5T and its abundance of upscale amenities. Its cabin is defined by first-class features such as Nappa leather upholstery, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, tri-zone automatic climate control, a synthetic-leather upper instrument panel, power-adjustable and massaging front seats that are both heated and ventilated, wood interior inlays with a subtle matte finish, and power rear sunshades. The microfiber suede headliner and pillars lend a sense of sophistication, too, while the heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, and panoramic sunroof add another layer of lavishness.
The 3.5T also comes with a few more innovative attributes, including the captivating Mood Curator, UV lights with antibacterial properties, a cutting-edge fingerprint authentication system, and Apple-compatible Digital Key 2. Outside, the elegant G90 is highlighted by a hands-free smart trunk, power-folding side mirrors with puddle lights, power-close doors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and 20-inch wheels. Some of its other sought-after features are a wireless phone charge pad, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, an active noise control system, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a head-up display. Meanwhile, the infotainment system is contained within the centrally located 12.3-inch touchscreen and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and a deluxe Bang & Olufsen sound system with 26 speakers and Virtual Venues Live 3D surround sound.
For advanced driving aids, the 2023 G90 3.5T gets forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, a blind-spot view monitor, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Driving Assist 2, driver attention warning, and high beam assist. Also standard are a surround-view camera, parking sensors (front, side, and rear), reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, advanced rear occupant alert, safe exit assist, and intelligent speed limit assist.
This G90 variant amplifies the driving experience with a thrilling 409-hp mild-hybrid engine. Beyond its considerable power, the 3.5T Supercharged also has rear-wheel steering and a multi-chamber air suspension, both of which enhance handling precision and ride comfort. The luxury quotient of the 3.5T Supercharger is raised as well, with soft-close doors, 21-inch wheels, massaging rear seats with ventilation and power adjustments, and an additional wireless phone charger for the second-row occupants.
