The gas-burning 2026 Genesis GV70 is expected to keep its two engine options: a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 300 horsepower and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 375 horsepower. These powerplants will likely still use Genesis’s proven eight-speed automatic transmission, with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options.
The new Highway Body Motion Control will improve the GV70’s ride and stability. This feature adjusts the front and rear shock absorbers when the vehicle is speeding up or slowing down. Genesis reports that the existing Road Preview feature will carry forward, using forward-facing cameras to read the road and control the crossover’s sophisticated suspension for a smoother ride.
Most importantly, the new Electrified GV70 will have a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port and an adapter for Combined Charging System (CCS), so it can use more than 36,000 Level 3/DC fast chargers across the country, including Tesla Supercharger hubs. At the same time, the 2026 Electrified GV70 will get a charge port door with an electric motor for easier opening and closing. Genesis has also added a charge port door heating element and lighting to make wintertime or after-dark charging more convenient. The Electrified GV70 is also expected to get a larger 84kWh battery, giving it more range and flexibility.
The 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 will add some new features to improve the passenger experience. Enhanced voice controls will let drivers easily adjust settings such as air conditioning and window positioning. A new Terrain Mode will be added for 2026, allowing drivers to pick the best setting (snow, mud, or sand) for the given road conditions.
The 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 will keep a long list of advanced driver-assistance systems while receiving additional support technologies. These features include a steering wheel with hands-on detection, improved lane-following assist, and enhanced Remote Smart Parking Assist that can handle more diverse parking situations.
The infotainment system in the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 will be available with a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with Beosonic technology. In addition, improved over-the-air updates will keep the vehicle current with the latest software and features.
