Trims and Powertrain

Genesis offers the G70 in two trims whose names reflect their respective powerplant: 2.0T and 3.3T. The base is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 252 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, while the twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 upgrade produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, but either trim can be upgraded with all-wheel drive (AWD). They both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The G70 2.0T with RWD is EPA-rated to return 21 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the open road, which changes to 20 city/28 highway with AWD. The fuel economy for the G70 3.0T is estimated at 18 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway with RWD and 17 city/26 highway with AWD.

2.0T

The 2.0T allows you to experience a good degree of luxury without breaking the bank, with standard features such as a hands-free trunk, heated exterior mirrors, 19-inch alloy wheels, and an 8-inch digital gauge cluster. It also has synthetic-leather seating and lower instrument panel surfaces, power-adjustable front seats with heating, and an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD radio, and SiriusXM satellite radio. This base G70 also has a full stable of advanced driver-assist technologies (forward collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, highway driving assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, driver attention warning, high beam assist, rear occupant alert, and safe exit warning).

With the optional Sport Prestige Package, the 2.0T will get more prominent wheels, a wide sunroof, a dark chrome grille, power-folding side mirrors with Genesis-logo puddle lights, genuine leather upholstery, a wireless phone charger, aluminum interior décor, ventilated front seats, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and a top-quality Lexicon audio system. On top of that, it will add rain-sensing wipers and front and rear parking sensors.

3.3T

Besides getting the stronger engine, the standard version of the 3.3T gets power-folding/puddle lamp side mirrors, leather upholstery, aluminum interior trim, and rain-sensing wipers. Genesis also gives it a convenient passenger walk-in device, which can slide the front passenger’s seat forward with the push of a button to help passengers get in and out of the back seat. The available Sport Advanced Package will upgrade the situation with ventilated front seats, more stylish wheels, a wide sunroof, a dark chrome grille, Digital Key, a power trunk, wireless phone charging, a power-bolstered driver’s seat with a cushion extender, a high-end Lexicon sound system, and front and rear parking sensors.

Like the 2.0T, the 3.3T qualifies for a Sport Prestige Package. In addition to the items from the Sport Advanced, this package contains Nappa leather seats, a microfiber suede headliner, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, a blind-spot view monitor (which you can view within the digital gauge cluster), and a surround-view monitor. Also standard are some performance enhancements: Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, and an electronically controlled suspension.
