2026 Genesis GV70 vs. Competitors Hero

Compact crossovers are everywhere, providing a balance between versatility and size. Add a luxury brand and reasonable pricing to the equation, and it’s easy to see why vehicles like the Genesis GV70, BMW X3, Lexus RX 350, and GLC 300 are so popular. Although it’s been around since 2022, the GV70 is the new kid on the block, bringing head-turning styling (the lead designer at Genesis used to work for Bentley and Lamborghini) along with the idea that premium and value aren’t mutually exclusive. Our objective on this page is to see how the Genesis GV70 compares to the aforementioned rivals. Unless otherwise stated, our matchup compares each model’s lowest-priced 2026 trim with all-wheel drive.

Pricing and Warranty

With a base MSRP of $48,985, the GV70 is almost $2,000 less than the X3 ($50,900). Meanwhile, the RX 350 ($51,325) and GLC 300 ($51,550) are even more costly. The GV70 comes with Genesis' industry-leading warranty, which includes five years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper protection. The others’ coverage ends after four years or 50,000 miles. While BMW and Mercedes-Benz don't offer powertrain protection beyond the basic warranty, Genesis offers ten years or 100,000 miles of coverage for the engine, transmission, and drive axles. The Lexus powertrain warranty lasts six years or 70,000 miles. The GV70 also leads with five years of complimentary roadside assistance, against just four years for the X3, RX 350, and GLC 300.

Powerplant

All four of these elite crossovers have a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but the GV70 stands apart with the highest output (300 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque). The RX 350 makes slightly more torque (317 lb.-ft), but it trails with 275 horsepower. The X3 and GLC 300 are further behind, with identical specs of 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. For those seeking more power, only the GV70 and X3 are available with a six-cylinder engine.

Expert Ratings

Edmunds gives the GV70 an overall rating of 7.8 out of 10, with even higher ratings in individual categories, such as in-cabin tech (9.1) and value (9.7). The X3 has a 7.5 ranking, while the GLC 300 follows with 7.3. Edmunds had not rated the 2026 RX 350 as of this writing.

Dimensions

While all four vehicles are similar in size (the wheelbase lengths all fall within 1 inch of each other), the GV70 has a particularly tight turning radius of 37.7 feet, compared to 40.0 feet for the X3. This makes the Genesis easy to maneuver in tight spaces like parking lots and city streets. The turning circles for the RX 350 and GLC 300 are 38.8 feet and 38.7 feet, respectively.

At the same time, the GV70 stretches out in the front row, with 41.3 inches of legroom and 59.1 inches of shoulder room. The X3 (40.2 inches/57.9 inches), GLC 300 (40.7 inches/57.3 inches), and RX 350 (41.1 inches/58.1 inches) don't quite measure up in the same way. The GV70 also offers more than an inch of rear legroom and shoulder room over the X3. Second-row dimensions for the Genesis, Lexus, and Mercedes are almost identical. Fold down the GV70’s back seats, and cargo space opens up to 56.9 cubic feet, allowing it to handily beat the RX 350 (46.2 cubic feet) and edge out the GLC 300 (56.3 cubic feet).
